Pool Plaster Pool Plaster ~ After weeks of construction, the plastering crew arrives, and in several hours, the pool plaster will be completed. A crew of five to eight men applies the pool plaster coat by hand. Approximately 3/8" in thickness. The plaster seals the structure making it watertight. No detail will be missed--each man is assigned to a specific area in the pool and is responsible for making the pool plaster surface as smooth and consistent as possible—it is harder then it looks. ![]() When the last man works his way up the steps and out of the pool, they immediately begin to fill it. Depending on the pool’s size, it usually takes about 24 hours to fill. Initially, high concentrations of acid are added to cure the pool plaster, so you will need to wait several days before swimming. The water will be greenish and cloudy at first but that will all clear up once the filtration system has a chance to catch up with the volume of water. Now it is time to jump in! The startup crew will start up the pumps, program the computer, and give instructions. Pool Plaster ![]() We have an extensive start-up program. Each week we will balance the water, add the cleaner, etc. At the end, we will schedule a "pool school" with you to go over all the details. At this time, you'll also be presented with your own manual with all the information for your pool. Any questions? We are a phone call away.
